Execution Strategy
In submitting Houston's application, Nexus Houston may select one core technology area that falls within a single key technology focus area (KTFAs) or crosses multiple KTFAs where the Hub has the potential to “become within a reasonable time a self-sustaining, globally competitive leader in that selected core technology area’s market.”

Grant
Requirements
Per the law, the consortium must include:
1. Institutions of higher education

2. Relevant Private Sector Companies
​
3. State and Local Government
​
4. Labor Organizations or Workforce Training Organizations, which may include State and Local Workforce Development Boards​

5. Economic Development Organizations focused on improving technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or access to capital
Per the law, the consortium may include:
